Google Business Profile Setup in Los Angeles

The reason your competitor shows up on Maps and you don't isn't magic — it's that their Google Business Profile is set up correctly and yours isn't. We fix that for LA small businesses in a week. $297 standalone, or free with the Pro Business web package.

The problem

You own a shop in LA. You've been there two years. People drive past you every day. But when someone pulls out their phone and types "mechanic near me", "nail salon Downey" or "taco catering East LA", your name doesn't appear. Instead, three shops you've never heard of show up at the top with reviews, hours and a "Call" button.

It's not that Google doesn't know you exist — your profile may even be auto-created. It's that the profile is empty, has the wrong category, no photos, no services written out, and 0 reviews. Google's algorithm looks at completeness and activity. A profile with every field filled, 20 photos and a weekly post ranks higher than one with just a name and a phone number — even if the empty one has been there longer.

That's the gap we close.

What we set up

Not a checklist you Google yourself at 11pm. The full thing, done once, documented, and handed off:

Profile creation or claim

If no profile exists, we create one with your real business information. If a competitor or Google auto-generated one with wrong data, we claim it and clean it up.

Verification

Postcard, phone, email or video verification — whichever Google requires for your business type. We walk you through it and handle the retry if the first attempt fails.

Primary + secondary categories

The single biggest ranking factor. "Hair salon" is different from "Beauty salon" is different from "Barber shop". We pick the one that matches your actual search intent and add 2-3 secondaries.

Services with descriptions

Each service as a separate entry: name, duration, price, description. This is what Google reads for "haircut near me" vs "fade near me" vs "beard trim near me".

Hours, holidays, special dates

Including the thing nobody fills in: holiday hours. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July. Google penalizes profiles that have "wrong" hours — a review that says "closed when it said open" hurts for months.

Photos (10-20 minimum)

Logo, cover, interior, team, work samples, before/after. We help you shoot them if you don't have them, or source stock substitutes that look native.

Q&A seeded

We seed 5-10 questions you know people ask, with your own answer. If you don't do it, your competitors or trolls will.

Review request flow

A short link, a QR code sticker for your counter, and an SMS template so you can text the link to a happy customer. We also set up a filter so unhappy customers get redirected to you first.

Post template bank

12 pre-written posts you can publish in 30 seconds — offers, new services, holiday reminders, team spotlights. Posts expire every 7 days, so having a bank matters.

Local Pack monitoring

We check your ranking for your top 5 search terms every 7 days for 60 days after setup and send a short report. Google ranking is not fire-and-forget.

GBP + website together

Google Business Profile tells people you exist. The website is where they decide to book you.

In 2026 we tracked conversion data across 23 of our clients who have both set up vs. 11 clients who had only a GBP (website came later). The ones with both converted calls into appointments at roughly 3x the rate of the GBP-only group. The reason is simple: a map pin and 2 reviews aren't enough proof for someone to pick up the phone. A profile that links to a real website — with your work, your prices, your team, your other reviews — is.

If you already have a GBP and no website, start with a $797 Essential site and we'll link the two correctly. If you have neither, bundle them: the Pro Business tier at $1,997 includes the full GBP setup as part of the launch.

Case: Taller Don Juan

Independent auto repair shop in San Fernando Valley. Owner spoke English but ran the business in Spanish. Had a GBP that was auto-created by Google with category "Store" (wrong) and no photos. Was invisible for "mecánico cerca de mí" and "taller cerca de mí" within his zip code.

What we did in 10 days: claimed the profile, changed primary category to "Auto repair shop" and added "Mechanic" + "Oil change service" as secondaries, wrote 14 services in English and Spanish with prices, uploaded 22 photos (shop interior, team, before/after), seeded 8 Q&A, launched a small 1-page website that linked back to the profile, printed QR codes for the counter.

Result: ranked #1 in the local Pack for "taller cerca de mí" in his ZIP within 60 days, 11 real Google reviews in 90 days (he had zero before), appointment calls went from 2-3 a week to 10-14 a week in the first quarter. Full case on our portfolio page.

Frequently asked

How long does Google take to verify my business?

For most LA businesses with a physical address, Google mails a postcard with a 5-digit code that arrives in 5-14 days. Service-area businesses can sometimes verify by phone or video the same day. We handle the whole process.

Can I use my home address if I run a mobile service?

Yes, but you should hide it. Set up a service-area business with your service radius (ZIP codes or cities you serve) and tell Google to hide the address on your public profile. Common for mobile mechanics, catering, cleaning, event rentals.

Do I need a website for GBP to work?

No, but you'll convert 3x fewer leads without one. GBP tells people you exist and shows up in Maps; the website is where they decide to book you. We offer the two together for a reason.

How often should I post on Google Business Profile?

Once a week minimum, more if you have offers or events. GBP posts expire after 7 days and the system favors active profiles. We set up a post template bank so you can publish one in 30 seconds.

What if my competitor files a false flag on my profile?

It happens in LA. Someone suggests an edit, Google auto-approves it, and your category changes. We set up the profile with the correct data locked in, enable 2-factor on the owner account, and show you how to monitor edits weekly.
