Video FAQ · Answer #7

What if I don't have content ready for my website?

Short answer (TL;DR)

Most of our clients don't have content ready — this is normal and we have a system. We start with a 30-minute questionnaire that extracts your services, pricing, personality, and target customer. From that, we draft all website copy (headlines, service descriptions, about page, FAQ). For bilingual clients, we write both English and Spanish natively — not Google-translated. For photos, we recommend a photographer or use high-quality stock until you're ready.

Extended answer

"I don't have the content ready" is the biggest reason small business websites take months instead of weeks. Most agencies make you figure out all your own copy, photos, and messaging before they'll start. That's backward. Here's our content-production system.

Step 1: The 30-minute questionnaire

Before any design starts, we send a structured questionnaire. 20-30 questions covering:

- Your core services (or products) and pricing structure
- Who your ideal customer is (demographics, pain points, how they find you)
- Your 3 biggest competitors and what you do differently
- Your "why I started this business" story
- 5 words you want people to feel when they land on your site
- 3 common objections you hear from prospects

Takes 30 minutes to fill out. Can be done voice-recorded if typing is painful — we transcribe.

Step 2: Copy draft (we write everything)

From the questionnaire, we draft every piece of text on your website:

- Homepage headline and sub-headline
- Service descriptions (1 paragraph each)
- About page / founder story
- FAQ page (10-15 questions)
- Call-to-action buttons
- Metadata (titles, meta descriptions)

Draft arrives 48-72 hours later. You review, flag anything that doesn't sound like you, we revise.

Step 3: Bilingual (if applicable)

For Pro Business and up, bilingual websites get native Spanish writing — not Google Translate, not DeepL. Spanish copy is written by a native Spanish speaker (Latino market, Mexican-American/Central American Spanish variant, not Spain Spanish). Google can tell when content is machine-translated and discounts the Spanish side for SEO; your Latino customers can also tell within one paragraph.

Step 4: Photos

Three options:

1. You already have professional photos: great, we use them.
2. Phone photos: often fine — we color-correct, crop, and apply consistent treatment. Modern iPhones shoot good enough for web.
3. No photos at all: we use carefully-selected stock from Unsplash, Pexels, or (paid) Shutterstock, matched to your industry. We mark which images are stock so you know. When you're ready, we recommend an LA-based photographer in your area and swap stock for real photos as an add-on ($50/image swap).

Logo

Essential and Pro tiers: bring your existing logo. If you don't have one, we recommend 99designs ($299) or Fiverr ($50-100) and refer you.

Enterprise tier: logo refinement or new logo included.

What this means for your timeline:

Nothing stalls because of content. 90% of the "6-month website project" stories you've heard are projects where the client got stuck trying to write their own copy. We take that off your plate by default.
